Desktop Contacts

The Desktop Contacts program is designed to help promote communication between ACS and our supported organizations.  Each department or area is asked to designate one or two individuals who will serve in this capacity.  The Desktop Contacts act as the primary point of contact for notifications, projects and other IT matters.

Desktop Contact responsibilities include:

  • Help ACS disseminate important IT-related information by forwarding notification emails to your department or group.
  • Act as a liaison between ACS and your department or group to facilitate various IT projects including software upgrades and hardware installs.
  • Attend Desktop Contacts meetings.

*New as of October 2019*
The Desktop Contacts Program now uses Microsoft Teams as the primary communication and collaboration platform.  All existing Desktop Contacts should have received an email invitation to join the team.  If you have not received an invitation, or are interested in joining the team, please contact your Desktop Technician or send an email to acshelp@syr.edu.  More information on Microsoft Teams (and other Office 365 applications) can be found here: https://answers.syr.edu/x/DwDiAQ.
