Remote Access

There are several supported methods for remote access.  If you are unsure which option you should choose, or if you have any questions, please contact your desktop technician.

Managed University Laptop

University laptops that have been set up with Device Tunnel Access can already access most University computing resources without the need to use any additional service or application.  If you have questions about these options, please contact your desktop technician.

Syracuse University Remote Desktop Services (rds.syr.edu)

Syracuse University’s Remote Desktop Services (RDS) is a virtual desktop environment for students, faculty, and staff to remotely access a university desktop from any personal computer with a stable broadband internet connection.

For more complete login instructions, see https://su-jsm.atlassian.net/wiki/x/noOICQ

Remote Desktop

If you have an AD desktop computer on campus, you can use the Remote Desktop Connection (search RDP in Windows) to remotely connect to your own computer in your office.  This is not enabled by default.  To enable this feature, please contact your desktop technician.

Please note that this method requires you to first connect to the RDS environment (see above), then connect to your desktop from within that session.
